Care Instructions

Care Instructions for Embroidered Apparel

  • Washing:

    • Machine wash cold/cool, inside out.
    • Use a gentle cycle to protect the embroidery and fabric.
    • Wash with similar colors to avoid any dye transfer.
  • Drying:

    • Tumble dry on low heat or, for best results, air dry flat.
    • Avoid high heat, as it can damage the embroidery and fabric.
  • Ironing:

    • If needed, iron garment inside out on a medium setting, and steam if necessary to remove puckers.
    • Do not iron directly over the embroidered area to prevent damage to the threads.
  • Avoid Bleach:

    • Do not bleach, as it may cause fading and damage to both fabric and embroidery. Some stain treatments and laundry additives can also remove pigment from your garments, so test in an inconspicuous place first.
  • Stabilizer:
    • All garments are embroidered with a stabilizer backing. This is necessary to ensure the stitches stay. This backing will soften over time with washing. Infant apparel may have a soft backing ironed over the stitches. Over time and several washings, this backing may start to peel off. It can be removed or ironed down again.
    • Some designs have raw fabric edges. This fabric will start to fray over time and several washings. This is totally normal, and the fabric should not fray past the stitch line.
